US WW2 Signal Corps PG-100/CR Bird Container

In a very good condition and hard to find a stunning US WW2 Signal Corps PG-100/CR Bird Container.
The drop cage was designed to carry 4 homing pigeons and is complete with the hanging suspension lines, hook, and side cover.
This specially designed cage allowed 4 birds to be safely dropped where needed. As long as the pilot followed procedures, the birds could reach their destination. The cage comes in a size of approx 60cm in diameter and 20cm heigh.
The side is nicely marked '4 Bird Containe, Part of Parachute Equipment PG-100/CR.
