German SA M-1933 Ernst Röhm Honor Dagger
In a very good condition a very hard to find and rare early M-1933 Sturmabteilung Ernst Röhm Honor Dagger.
This early example is made and marked by Wilhelm Kober from Suhl (Thuringia) as one of the 16 known Honor Dagger producers.
The grip is near perfect as far as these daggers go, with only light traces of use.
The SA roundel shows no loss of enamel.
The grip eagle is the aluminum type (correct) and shows no wear to the normal areas of the wreath and wings.
The upper and lower guards are the nickle silver version (which is correct) and both show no level of wear only aging.
The lower guard has the marking of the SA-region 'Tr' Thuringia (location of the makers production facilily).
At the top of the grip the pommel nut shows no signs of tampering, and has no swirl marks on the upper surface of the guard.
The blade has on the front the motto in a black tone and surface of the blade is virtually flawless, save the typically scabbard runner marks that we see on all SA daggers.
On the reverse side we see in the same black tone a fully written and not damaged Ernst Röhm dedication "In herzlicher Freundschaft, Ernst Röhm".
The blade is one of the best we have seen in this condition.
The scabbard comes in a matching condition with the rest of the dagger. The brown painted scabbard body shows only light scratches one light dent, and has managed to retain almost all of the original paint and comes with traces of aging.
The fittings show the same tone as the guards and are virtually without flaw. This includes the tip ball, which shows a light dent on the bottom. All fitting screws are secure and show no signs of tampering.
In another word this is a very stunning example of an original rare M33 Ernst Röhm Honor SA Dagger.
Ernst Julius Günther Röhm (28 November 1887 – 1 July 1934) was a German military officer, politician, and a leading member of the Nazi Party. A close friend and early ally of Adolf Hitler, Röhm was the co-founder and leader of the Sturmabteilung (SA), the Nazi Party's original paramilitary wing, which played a significant role in Hitler's rise to power. He served as chief of the SA from 1931 until his assassination by the SS in 1934 during the Night of the Long Knives.
Following the 1934 "Night of the Long Knives" purge, Hitler ordered the Ernst Röhm signature removed from SA and SS honor daggers. Known as "Ground Röhm daggers," these pieces typically have the inscription removed via factory grinding or field-expedient filing, making "ground" or partially ground examples highly collectible.
This example we have for sale is untouched and never removed. A very rare to find example that we priced nicely accourding todays marked.
