SS-Sturmbannführer Walter Gerth earned the Ritterkreuz on March 31, 1943 as SS-Obersturmführer und Chef of the 7. Batterie/ SS-Artillerie-Regiment 3 “Totenkopf” of the 3. SS-Panzer-Division “Totenkopf”.
