German SS Service Dagger M33 Carl Eickhorn “Ex Röhm”
In a very good condition a very nice M-1933 Schutzstaffel Officer's Dagger (Dienstdolch).
This example is made by Carl Eickhorn from Solingen.
The grip is in a very nice condition with only traces of use and age.
The SS roundel shows no loss of enamel.
The grip eagle is the nickel silver type (correct) and shows no wear to the normal areas of the wreath and wings.
The upper and lower guards are made of the correct early nickel silver and both show no level of wear.
At the top of the grip the pommel nut shows no signs of tampering, and has no swirl marks on the upper surface of the guard.
The lower cross guard comes with the Roman numeral “III”, referring to Zeugmeisterei Berlin and has on the bottom of the lower crossguard the work shop number 4 stamped.
The blade has on the front the motto etched with the SS motto: “Meine Ehre heißt Treue!”.
On the reverse we see clearly the same level of light oxidation and features the recognizable early Eickhorn logo and traces of the removed Röhm script.
The scabbard comes in a matching condition with the rest of the dagger.
The fittings comes in a nickle silver colour and are virtually without flaw. This includes the tip ball, which shows no dent. All fitting screws are secure and show no signs of tampering (one screw missing).
Original attached is a rare to find straight leather hanger that is maker marked by the Assmann company and is DRGM marked on the back side.
This is a very nice not cleaned or postwar changed example of an original M33 SS Officer's Dagger.
