In a very good condition a stunning US Army Air Force 23rd Troop Carrier Map Box.
The wooden box comes in a size of approx 50x50x50cm and is nicely marked on top 'No.16' and on the front 'Map box, 23rd troop carrier squadron 16'.

The 23rd Troop Carrier Squadron was activated on November 21, 1944, at Pope Field, North Carolina. Assigned to the 349th Troop Carrier Group, the squadron primarily flew C-47 Skytrains and later upgraded to C-46 Commandos, providing critical logistical support in the European Theater.
