After the second World War, when there was great shortcomings of all kinds of kitchen gear etc. and lots of military equipment laying around with no future.
People and companies where rebuilding those military equipment items to useful items for civilian life
It's called “Aus der not Geboren” this lighter is on of the stunning examples that were made.
